Everybody talks goals now like they came prepackaged
Vision boards and coffee mugs full of words they half believe
Funny thing about dreams though
Nobody talks about the middle
That long stretch where nothing's happening

Momentum not handed out in the streets where I'm from
The fire inside begins to grow
But when it finally shows
It gets lonely being the only one who knows

Still waking up still showing up
Still betting on myself when nobody else will

Some people change slowly some all at once
Some days I wake up focused some days I just survive
Still trying to become somebody I actually recognize
