Corey Winfield in a music room

About the project

Parker Beckett is where the songs live.

The beginning

A professional music project built from real stories.

Parker Beckett began as a creative outlet and became something worth preserving.

After twenty years in radio, Corey Winfield trusted his instincts about what made a song work. The lyrics came from his own life, but releasing them under his own name did not feel right, and hearing someone else sing such personal material felt even stranger. Parker Beckett became the place where those stories could exist as music.

The name comes from his sons, Parker and Beckett. The project is part creative legacy and part independent artist endeavor: made first to leave them and their future families something lasting, and also for anyone who recognizes a piece of their own life in the songs.

The work

Not a character. Not a disguise.

Parker Beckett is a distinct music project created by Corey Winfield. It is not meant to replace everything else he has done or will do. It is the professional home for this catalog, its visual world, and the stories behind it.

The songs move through addiction, recovery, marriage, fatherhood, memory, identity, regret, humor, and the quieter work of learning how to live after survival.

Independent

The project stands on its own.

Corey is also the founder of 217 Recovery and works in film and writing. Those parts of his life inform the work, but Parker Beckett is not a promotional extension of them. This site is dedicated to the music.
